the brief.
45ACIDBABIES commissioned a new set of professional press images for an upcoming EP release, press outreach, social content, and venue communication. The aim was to move beyond a DIY aesthetic toward a more polished, fashion-forward look, without losing the band’s playful and boundary-pushing identity.
The images needed to work across press and digital platforms and reflect the band’s evolving position, including their involvement in SENCITY and its focus on sensory experience. We also shot video to create a variety of short-form visualisers and a “micro music video”.
the concept.
The concept used a white studio background as a neutral base, with each band member treated as a graphic element in the frame. Instead of relying on sets or narrative, the focus was placed on character, styling (provided by Facshop.com and Liquid Disco Latex), and physical presence.
Inspired by high-fashion editorials and Y2K pop culture, the visuals use exaggerated poses and bold silhouettes. Perspective shifts and mirroring introduce a cartoon-like vibe that reflects the band’s approach to music and performance.
